A look at our Northeastern Seafood Partnerships
While we’ve always, and will always, champion the fishermen and oyster farmers we work with in the Gulf, we also have great relationships that diversify our portfolio with farms in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and West Coasts. Our seafood category manager, Kirk, and sales manager, JT, were able to catch up with old friends and meet some new faces on their most recent trip to Boston.
From visiting our great partners @islandcreekoysters in Duxbury and the scallop auction in Bedford to visiting Boston’s Seaport and Port Judith, Rhode Island, this comprehensive trip gave us even more insight into northern seafood production. The seafood business is all about trust, so meeting fishermen face-to-face is important to us. A solid relationship with the fisherman gives a good inside look at their process, where they fish, how long the boats are on the water, and how they store seafood while on the boat.
This trip, like all our producer visits, reinforces our trust in our phenomenal partners and provides our team with even more knowledge on menu application. Oysters, halibut, mussels, smoked fish, tinned fish, caviar, squid, fluke, monk, scallops, and tuna are just some of the products we got a closer look at, so be sure to ask your sales rep for even more detail.
