Beef is the largest component of the meat program at Evans. We offer a full line of foodservice cuts in U.S.D.A. Select, Choice, and Prime; and our grinding operation produces bulk ground beef and ground beef patties fresh on a daily basis. We produce ground beef patties in bulk for customers like Milo’s Hamburgers. All of our portioned controlled products such as steaks and beef patties are packaged as requested by the customer. We vacuum seal beef patties and individually vacuum seal steaks with our state of the art packaging equipment.
Our premium beef program is Certified Hereford Beef. These cattle have been bred for taste since the 1700’s. This program uses only Hereford and Hereford crossbred cattle, genetically proven to produce better beef. The Hereford cattle are fed a corn ration diet for the last 120 days before slaughter. A study by researchers at Colorado State University showed that Hereford beef was superior in tenderness, flavor, and juiciness when compared to U.S.D.A. lower and upper Choice beef. The Hereford program is U.S.D.A. Certified with all cuts being ¼’’ trim and aged a minimum of 21 days before the customer receives the product. We are proud to offer our customers a beef program that is unmatched in quality and consistency.
